WP2 – Mapping of research infrastructure-industry collaborations

Work Package 2 is led by SZN and aims at mapping the key element to enact the envisaged collaborative framework between the ESFRI RIs and industry players to bring technological innovation about. For the purpose, two surveys will be conducted, targeting both the ILO and ICO networks to retrieve and organise the available information.

The ENRIITC D2.1- Final report which has been completed and distributed already, gives a clear overview of the two important roles that Industry can have: RI supplier or RI user.

The purpose of the exercise is to inform the project of the current state of play of this environment and support the production of specific strategic recommendations (WP3) and actions (WP4). As a means to foster this collaborative framework, WP2 will also analyse the available instruments for match-making of reciprocal industry-RI needs and evaluate the need to refurbish some of those tools, or the basis for a new effort, based on a prioritisation exercise.

Finally, to comprehend and overcome the barriers to reciprocal engagement, the drivers and barriers in the industry-RI relations will be investigated to define appropriate strategies and actions for the establishment of the envisaged collaborative framework.
