The ESO ILO network, lead by the Swiss ILO office, is organising an ELT Instrument Day in Geneva, on 07 April 2022, with the collaboration of the ESO, the institutes taking part in the ELT scientific instrument and the ENRIITC project.
ESO’s Extremely Large Telescope includes, for its first light, the construction of four extremely ambitious and complex scientific instruments (HARMONI, MICADO, METIS and MAORY) which are in the process of finalising their final design stage. Also in ESO’s pipeline are two second generation instruments, MOSAIC and HIRES, currently in the design stage.
The purpose of the event is to provide an overview of the business opportunities arising from the construction of the ELT instruments in the coming years, in areas such as Mechanisms, Optics, Cryogenics and Vacuum, Detectors and Control. The event will include presentations from ELT project leaders and ESO management as well as detailed procurement content and schedules associated with each ELT instrument.
